Forbes Lake of the Ozarks Park
Exclusive properties located at Lake of the Ozarks in Edwards, Missouri
Welcome to Forbes!
The Forbes Lake of the Ozarks Park is a private, gated residential/recreational community located in the heart of Southwestern Missouri, in Benton and Camden counties, along Lake of the Ozarks between Truman Dam to the west and to Bagnell Dam to the east. The Park has over 12,800 acres and spans five miles of shoreline property along the Lake. The scenic beauty of the Park is enhanced by its natural wooded setting throughout that includes oak, walnut, hickory, elm and sycamore. The topography also includes beautiful rolling hills, narrow valleys and rugged outcroppings of limestone. There are many excellent views of the four inland lakes, Missouri countryside and of course, Lake of the Ozarks itself.
The four interior private lakes are all over 20 acres each and include recreational amenities with boat launching sites. The Park includes an RV Park and picnic areas, with full hookups, for our Land Owners and their guests.
The Park has 125 miles of graveled and grass roads that will meet the needs of walkers, hikers, and horseback riders. As a Wildlife sanctuary, you undoubtedly come across a variety of animals, both large and small, during your walk. The Park is located on the Principle Mississippi Migration Flyway. This Flyway brings a wide variety of birds to the area. The Missouri River Bird Observatory is within easy driving distance. Another must see, located just a few miles northeast of Warsaw, is the Lost Valley Fish Hatchery. It's the largest state owned, warm water hatchery in Missouri and one of the largest in the nation.
The center of Forbes Lake of the Ozarks Park is located 19 miles (11 miles by water) from downtown Warsaw Missouri and 30 miles to downtown Camdenton. Warsaw is 93 miles north of Springfield, 125 miles southeast of Kansas City, and 223 miles southwest of St. Louis. Missouri's state capitol is located in Jefferson City, Missouri and is just 100 miles northeast of Park. The Benton County Seat is in Warsaw and Camdenton is the county seat of Camden County. The maximum altitude of the Park is 953 feet, with its heavily-forested slopes extending down to the Lake. The lowest altitude is 659 feet at the water’s edge.
Forbes Land Owner's Association was formed in 1983 in a country setting that was inhabited almost exclusively by wildlife. As a Land Owner in Forbes Lake of the Ozarks Park you are automatically a member of the Landowners Association. The Association is a nonprofit corporation, governed by a five person Board of Directors who are elected by the members of the Association. One of the Board's most important areas of concern is developing and maintaining the parks infrastructure. The Board also establishes rules covering all aspects of corporate functions, appoints members of the Environmental Control Committee and enforces the provisions of the Covenants and By-Laws. Annual dues are assessed and are used for maintenance and improvements of the Park infrastructure, recreational facilities, payment of property taxes, staff salaries, security, and insurance.
